In 2007, Fine & Raw was established in Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York. The founder, Daniel Sklaar, started the company by biking to his friends houses and dropping off his homemade chocolate.
Fine & Raw prides themselves on a transparent supply chain. Their cacao is sourced from ethical suppliers in Belize and Ecuador. All the farmers are paid above fair trade wages. Less than 0.5% of cacao beans are organically grown and Fine & Raw is determined to help that number grow and provide support for these farmers and their communities.
Not many people know that cacao is rich inpolyphenols. Polyphenols are naturally occurring antioxidants that can improve blood flow, blood sugar levels, and reduce inflammation in the body.
